It has been an exciting few months for the directors of Fallowfield Projects Ltd, a bespoke joinery manufacturing and fitting company based in Staveley, Cumbria – The Lake District.
Last year they decided to embark in tapping into the luxury glamping industry utilising their high quality joinery skills built up over 2 decades. Along with their partner team Cumbrian Shepherd Huts was born, the name of the operation and the product of course self explanatory. The structures are true to the landscape of the Lake District and true to original Cumbrian shepherd hut design.
These shepherd huts are made entirely in the Lake District using the highest quality materials and all made individually by hand. The glamping industry is now worth millions in the UK with new and alternative locations to enjoy a less backpacking, more 5 star version of camping. In a Fallowfield Joinery shepherd hut, kitting it out is the choice of the purchaser with options such as wood burning stoves to handmade tables, bookcases and wooden shutters. These huts are bespoke glamping of the highest proportion and for businesses, will provide a ROI extremely quickly.
We’re all loving the fact we can have a short break or a holiday is the true outdoors making the most of the beaten track locations whilst not giving up practicality, luxury surroundings and without the need to put up tents, being affected by bad weather or having to cart around a articulated truck load of gear. But accommodation such as gypsy caravans and shepherd’s huts with their quirky and funky looks and interiors have become extremely popular.
For farmers with land needing to diversify to campsite and bed & breakfast owners looking to add alternative form of accommodation to their bow and even those who want the ultimate summer house structure at the bottom of their garden, these kitsch, warm and welcoming solid roofed dwellings are bang on trend now. They have also proved popular for accommodation owners looking to tap into the dog friendly market but when their main business premises cannot accommodate or it is not practical.
One of the leading hotels in the Lake District will very shortly be putting live their brand new website.
With all the comprehensive information as the previous website, the new design showcases the 4 star Langdale Hotel, its luxury spa, the self catering and timeshare lodges, the 3 dining options as well as the famous Wainwright’s Inn as well as wedding and conference services offered within the whole Langdale Estate complete with very handy location and things to do information.
Take a look for yourself and experience full width images that show off the hotel, estate, services and location to the utmost. The new website is even easier to navigate and has the ability to check availability directly from the homepage.
As is the case with so many hotels and bed & breakfasts now, booking direct means the best rate guaranteed, no booking fees or hidden costs, a choice of every room type and in the case of the Langdale Hotel, the chance to sign up to the Fan Club to receive further benefits.
The Fan Club was introduced late last year and has proved a real hit. A simple sign up grants those registered to the special Fan Club discount of 15% off the hotel room rates when booking 30 days or more in advance. Fans are also given access to exclusive rates, promotional codes and offers.
The new website can be viewed by clicking on this test site link, http://www2.langdale.co.uk/. Content Warning – large images of delicious food. Langdale will take no responsibility for extreme tummy rumbling if the new website is looked at before lunchtime.
The results of the Countryfile Magazine Awards 2015 have recently been announced with the Lake District bagging not only Holiday Destination of the Year but also National Park of the Year beating tough competition including the Outer Hebrides, Yorkshire and the Peak District.
The award categories ranged from locations to Rural Pub of the year, Photo of the Year and Outdoor Brand of the Year. The Outdoor Brand category was won by Berghaus, a brand name that is highly regarded by those visiting the Lake District and that is a very common sight on the fells. Berghaus is a great all round outdoor clothing brand selling head to toe gear and accessories and which will incidentally be celebrating its 50th Birthday next year.
But the Lake District and Berghaus are already very much a winning combination at one hotel. Brimstone Hotel at Langdale are the only hotel in the Lake District to have a Berghaus Bootroom. The Bootroom is stocked full of all the latest Berghaus walking and outdoor gear for use of the guests of the hotel whilst staying. The resource has proved an excellent and much talked about addition to the hotel which is no surprise with the ever changing Lake District climate! Borrow extra waterproofs, extra warm clothing or as the weather can so often even change to being tropical, lighter layers. Rucksacks and boots can also be borrowed so even you didn’t think you’d fancy venturing out onto the fells or forgot any kit, no panic, Bergahus and Brimstone will sort it all out.
Rooms at Brimstone Hotel can only be booked direct and there’s a saving of 20% if booked 30 days or more in advance (B&B starting from £200). More details and to view availability, visit http://brimstonehotel.co.uk or call 015394 38062.
